Currency war would be 'destructive', says Euro chief Juncker

Jean-Claude Juncker, Prime Minister of Luxembourg and President of the 16-country Euro group in the European Union, warned on Tuesday that a "currency war" with China and "increased protectionism" would be "destructive". Juncker made his comments during a press conference where he, together with ECB President Jean-Claude Trichet and European Monetary Affairs Commissioner Olli Rehn, said they together had pressed China to revalue its currency, the renminbi. Earlier on the day they met with China's Prime Minister Wen Jibao, who is in Brussels for the EU-ASEM summit. Distributed by Tubemogul.
